Committees have been established to raise awareness and increase recognition within the industry of the services offered by CES member firms, promote market expansion of our industry, identify and communicate opportunities within the industry to CES Member Firms, expand the services offered by CES Members, meet with appropriate industry groups, and to discuss common issues/concerns with client groups. The mandates of the prime internal committees are attached.
Task Groups are established from time to time to address specific issues of a short-term duration.
Environment / Water Resources Committee

- Pursues market opportunities and consulting engineering/geoscience issues with the Saskatchewan based Industry (i.e. business licensing, RFPs, Best Practices, InfraGuide)
- Performs a stakeholder function, on behalf of CES, regarding Buildings issues through identification, participation or response.
Human Resources
Chair: Darran Stamm, P. Eng., ALFA Engineering Ltd.
Mandate:
- Promote market opportunities and consulting engineering issues on behalf of CES Member Firms and CES Committees
- Performs a stakeholder function, on behalf of CES, regarding Human Resource issues through identification, participation or response
The objectives of the committee include:
- Liaise with other CES committees to create awareness of CES and HR issues
- Liaise with like-minded groups and organizations to create awareness of the business side of the industry
- Promote and facilitate long-term growth and sustainability of CES member firms through education and business development
- Plan and organize a summit with the overlying focus/theme on servicing sustainability – Building a Sustainable Saskatchewan.
Industry Resources
Mandate:
- Pursues market opportunities and consulting engineering issues with Saskatchewan based industry (i.e. potash, manufacturing, etc.), resources (i.e. mining, oil & gas exploration) and Crowns (i.e. SaskPower, SaskTel, SaskEnergy & others).
- Performs a stakeholder function, on behalf of CES, regarding Industry, Resources or Crowns issues through identification, participation or response.
Young Professionals Group (YPG)
Liason: Geoff Sarazin, P. Eng. Associated Engineering (Sask.) Ltd.
Mandate:
- YPG is a forum for young professionals to meet regularly to exchange ideas and get frank feedback. The Group reports to the CES Board and/or Committees as required. Some terms of reference to consider:
- To assist the Executive Committee on matters related to the involvement of young professionals in FIDIC activities.
- To organize e-mail and/or web discussion on matters related to young professionals
- To liaise with committees and task forces on issues related to young professionals
CES Task Groups
Saskatchewan - CES Consultant Selection Policy Working Group
The intent of this initiative is to develop a consistent consultant selection policy to provide cost savings for Saskatchewan in the long term and to help CES member firms attract and retain qualified staff who can provide the services required by Saskatchewan. The working group has finalized the development of a common Professional Services Agreement with government and crowns.
