CES Chair, David Tratch P. ENG., welcomes guests to the 10th Annual CES Awards Banquet.
The Consulting Engineers of Saskatchewan (CES) showcased the talent, expertise and innovation of their member firms and honoured industry leaders at their 10th Annual Awards Banquet in Saskatoon, SK on November 24, 2011.
David Tratch, CES Chair addressed the audience of over 230, comprised of many industry leaders and invited dignitaries that were able to attend. CES was celebrating its 35th Anniversary as an organization and the 10th Anniversary of the CES Awards Banquet.
"In 1976, a group of individual consulting engineering companies recognized the benefit of working together to improve the business climate of the engineering and geoscience industry and Association of Consulting Engineers of Saskatchewan, or ACES was formed,” said Tratch. "A natural progression of increased growth in our industry was to highlight and promote exceptional projects by member firms, resulting in the CES Awards being established in 2001.”
“Projects are collaborative undertakings between clients and Consulting Engineering and/or Geoscience firms. They require a concerted effort by all involved and are carefully planned to meet client objectives within industry and regulatory guidelines. “
For the past ten years, this annual event has showcased CES Member Firms and their achievements through the Brian Eckel Awards. Worthy candidates are also recognized for their individual industry contributions through The Young Professional Award, the Brian Eckel Memorial Scholarship and the prestigious Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan Meritorious Achievement Award.
Beverly MacLeod, CES Executive Director, acknowledged the significance of member project submissions to the event. "Seventy-nine projects have been submitted in the past decade and we know this represents a fraction of the contribution CES member firms have made to the Saskatchewan economy. The projects submitted for consideration in 2011 are a reflection of the depth and breadth of that ongoing contribution.”
Consulting Engineers of Saskatchewan (CES) is a non-profit association representing the business interests of the majority of consulting engineering and consulting geoscience firms in Saskatchewan. As the business voice of the consulting engineering and geoscience industry in Saskatchewan, CES is the link between private industry, government, purchasers, decision makers, and owners.
