15 Wing Moose Jaw Pavement Rehabilitation
Project Description
15 Wing Moose Jaw is a NATO training base for pilots. In 2008, ATCO Frontec commissioned AECOM for design, contract preparation, tender and construction adminstration services for pavement rehabiliitation on the taxiways and runways at 15 Wing.
Since training occurs during the week, it was crucial to rehabilitate the pavement while maintaining the airstrips' availability. The bid form was structured to represent two construction alternatives. The contract preparation provided the contractor an incentive for timely project completion while minimizing the down time of the airstrips. The project was successfully completed under budget with minimal disruption to flight training.
