CITY OF SWIFT CURRENT WATER TREATMENT PLANT PILOT STUDIES
Project Description
The Swift Current Water Treatment Plant is an aging facility that requires significant upgrades to meet drinking water regulations. As water quality is dynamic and is difficult to predict, pilot testing was recommended for clarification process selection. A supplier of ballasted flocculation equipment and a supplier of high rate dissolved air flotation equipment were contracted to bring in their semi trailer pilot units to conduct testing over a 4 week spring runoff period in a direct comparison. Earth Tech planned, arranged, supervised and evaluated the pilot testing project. The ballasted flocculation process achieved the City's operating goals and minimum targets.
