Victoria Avenue East Widening Project
Project Description
The Victoria Avenue East Widening Project was constructed in 2004/2005 to increase traffic capacity on Regina’s busiest corridor. Victoria Avenue provides access to a major commercial area and many residential areas. It carries commuters from communities east of Regina and is part of the TransCanada Highway system. Up to 50,000 vehicles per day, including approximately 2,500 trucks, use this roadway.
The project included design and construction for approximately 2,400 m of roadway widening, overlay, and new construction, including construction of a temporary intersection and retaining walls. The work was completed under heavy traffic conditions while maintaining traffic in both directions.
