University of Regina Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport
Project Description
The University of Regina´s Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport is a substantial addition to the campus. A multi-faceted mechanical system was designed to meet the wide variety of occupancy functions. The three-court gymnasium utilizes a displacement ventilation system with carbon dioxide based control to accommodate both day-to-day use and sporting events with 2000 spectators. The parkade uses dedicated 100% outdoor air-handlers. A fan-coil system serves the remainder of the building offering excellent occupant thermal comfort and flexible zoning capabilities. The mechanical systems combine to create an energy efficient and sustainable building thus qualifying for the Commercial Building Incentive Program.
