Bushell Public Port Facility Remediation Project
Project Description
The design of the Bushell Public Port Facility Remediation Project was completed by Golder Associates Ltd. working in cooperation with Public Works and Government Services Canada, and Transport Canada. A multidisciplinary risk based approach was employed to define remedial objectives and develop remedial plan for this hydrocarbon impacted site located in a remote northern community. Coordination between Golder and federal/provincial agencies resulted in modifications to the remedial plan to achieve a sustainable solution by reprocessing impacted waste into a useable aggregate resource for another project in the area. This project received Environment Canada´s Federal Contaminated Sites National Workshop Sustainable Solutions Award in 2006.
