

Highway No. 47 Relocation Project
Project Description
The Boundary Dam Power Station (BDPS) near Estevan, Saskatchewan is Saskatchewan´s largest coal fired generating facility in terms of megawatts produced.
The purpose of this project was to relocate a section of Highway No. 47 (CS 47-01) from km 5.2 to km 10.95 to allow for access to the coal reserves beneath and west of the existing highway alignment.
Saskatchewan Highways and Transportation and SaskPower formed a partnership to complete the relocation project. Earth Tech (Canada) Inc. was commissioned by Sask Highways to provide project management, design and construction services for the project. Golder Associates provided geotechnical engineering, surfacing design and materials testing services for the project in partnership with Earth Tech. Kelly Panteluk Construction and C.D. Botkin Construction partnered to complete the roadway construction.
