Mechanistic Full Depth Road Recycling and Strengthening System
Project Description:
Pavement Scientific International in partnership with Saskatchewan Department of Highways and Transportation and Saskatchewan Road Builders have been developing mechanistic road engineering methods to design full depth road recycling and strengthening systems. Through this project, Saskatchewan is providing an improved structural capacity, preserving high quality non-renewable natural aggregate resources, and adopting mechanistic based engineering methods for road materials specifications, road structural design, and analysis. The PSI system has also been used to evaluate SaskPower supplemental cementitious materials for road strengthening and providing Saskatchewan with a more environmentally friendly and sustainable solution than conventional land filling.
