Wascana Lake Urban Revitalization Project
Project Description:
The Wascana Lake Urban Revitalization Project was a comprehensive plan to revitalize Wascana Lake, an essential part of the water management infrastructure of the City of Regina, and a core of the recreational, environmental and cultural foundations of Wascana Centre. The team of Clifton Associates Ltd and seven sub-consultants – Crosby Hanna and Associates, Donovan Engineering, Water Resource Consultants Ltd., MR2 McDonald and Associates, H.J. Linnen and Associates, CanNorth Environmental Consultants, and EMC Engineering Inc. – successfully delivered the lake deepening project and ancillary work on a fast-track schedule, on time and on budget, while rigorously preserving the sensitive environment of Wascana Centre and minimizing the risk that construction presented to the public. The project has revitalized the Jewel of Regina, the centre of one of the largest urban parks in North America.
