The Riversdale Site Remediation project remediated 1.1 hectare site on 22nd Avenue in Saskatoon, SK. The site was considered prime real estate but environmental impact issues made it unattractive for development. The site was identified as being contaminated with heavy metals (in particular lead), PAHs (poly-nuclear aromatic hydrocarbons) and petroleum hydrocarbons. Over 9,400 tonnes of contaminated soil was removed from the site and placed into a lined storage cell constructed at the City of Saskatoon Landfill. Safety measures to protect the public and the workers were incorporated into the work.
The site is currently being developed by Giant Tiger to contain a grocery and general store
